Apologies if this has already been covered, but a quick search didn't turn anything up.

I'm wondering if anyone's found a way to hack or otherwise make the expresscard HP remote work with programs other than the few default ones (WMP, Media Center, etc.). In particular, I'm looking for control of Rhapsody. Anything else would be a bonus.

    Thanks.

I haven't tried Rhapsody yet, but I got several different apps working.

PageUP/Down, Up/Down, Left/Right key work in almost all software include Word, Browsers, PDF readers.

FF/RW works in all media players.

i(nfo) works all apps and does pop up menu like mouse right click.

I also tested those key in ubuntu linux. All quick key work the same as in XP except QuickPlay button. Linux doesn't have HP QuickPlay app available yet. The remote DVD key will execute Totem media player. FF/RW work the same way. Power button will do power command scenario as you set.

Thanks, I hadn't tried the info button. But I can say with certainty that (if you consider it a media player) Rhapsody does not work with FF/RW or any other commands from the remote.

I just downloaded a program called BTRemote that purports to give functionality to various programs and remotes... only thing is, I'm not sure where the HP remote's files are. Are there dlls for it somewhere?

    Thanks again.
