Anyway, it was for a screen replacement. So i got the repair form and it said they replaced my screen, but also my System board. I have no clue why...
Is there any chance they replaced the grphics card as well? Because its running 15 degrees cooler than usual!![]()
Why would they do this, does anyone know?![]()
I mean, im happy and all, but just want to know why...![]()
Thanks in advance.

HP generally solders the GPU to the motherboard. You probably got a new one.
-
If its soldered into the mobo, how is it a deticated card? Wouldnt that make it intergrated?
Any ideas why they decided to replace the mobo out of nowhere? -

They probably assumed that you had the usual fried NVIDIA graphics chip, regardless of whether or not yours had gone bad yet. Or that was the problem all along and your screen was fine.

Nice of them to swap in one of the new fixed boards. The above list is incomplete, your notebook might not be listed.
Edit: dedicated GPUs have their own memory and are separate chips, not integrated into the northbridge chip and sharing main memory. They're still usually soldered onto the motherboard. -
I actually just did a BIOS update when i recived it.
Thanks +11 rep to both. -
Or maybe just because your system is full of dust inside and its been clear while they are changing stuff.

Is it the same model GPU?

i just sent my dv2500 in today because of a defective Nvidia 8400 card, just curious how did your laptop look cosmetically when you got it back?

that's good i was a little nervous sending it out I've heard some stories of them treating the notebooks like trash when they get them.

But, HP's support is excellent. I cant see that happening.
