I signed up for an educational discount account yesterday, with the correct email address, got everything in the email that they sent, etc. Today I went and bought myself a new L2000, and noticed that they were sending my confirmation email to [email protected]

What is that eds before it? I assume it's education, but why did they change my email address to one that doesn't exist? I tried calling but they are closed for the holiday.

My guess is that its most probably a tag used by HP for identification for your discount. They will generally remove those before sending the confirmation email. If you dont get the email then call them ask them to resend it...

Actually, practically EVERYONE back @ r4000forums.com had this occur with their accts as well (myself included)....they WILL, in fact, send emails to the erroneous non-existent address...UNLESS you tell them different.

That's weird. It shouldn't delay my computer though, so no big deal. I wouldn't have even found out about the Education Discount without this site! Thanks!
