Has anyone sent their HP Envy into service under warranty? If so what was it like? How long did it take you to receive your computer back? Was anything damaged?
I'm having some issues with my computer which really has me stumped and I'm contemplating sending it in although I have heard many "horror" stories.

I sent my HP envy 14 in after I accidentally dropped it. It was extreemly fast service on shipping both ways and they did a good job on my machine. I am happy I had the service for accidental drops to be able to call them. I had a great experience with them. I would call them.

I just recently sent in my machine to get repaired for the Orange screen issue, mushy keyboard on the left side and trackpad that is bowed in the middle. I had taking a whole sheet of paper to give detailed explainations of the problems and how to reproduce them.
The idiots took a week and half to even register on the HP repair website that they had received my notebook even though from FedEx i could clearly see that had it the next day after I had dropped off the machine. Then I am without my machine for literally two weeks and all they did was upgrade the bios which i had already done on my own and they said they "reassembled" the unit.
Well "reassembling" my laptop made it so the lights don't work anymore on my laptop. The keyboard sometimes misses keys when typing. Trackpad doesn't always respond to gestures now. Even when i took the laptop out of the box the bottom half of my laptop immediately fell off. As you can imagine I was pretty pissed that they didn't fix anything and broke stuff in the process.
The good news about the story is since I already had a case manager i explained the whole situation to her and she offered me a replacement machine. They have hooking me up with some good upgrades. -
Having done it with my old Envy, I can say that I was thoroughly satisfied. What bothers me -- and I fully recognize this is unrelated -- is that my current Envy was unable to finish recovery disc creation and that the old one's recovery discs did not work. That just needed to be vented somewhere.
I guess I should clarify that the screen in mine died as an oddly delayed reaction to a spill. When I received it back, you could not tell it had been opened. -
That tatoo was enough to invalidate my recovery disks. They no longer worked, either. -
