I just got an email from HP indicating the following:

Has anyone else gotten a shipping delay notice in the past? What is your expreience when this occurs?

My 6500t was originally scheduled to ship on 6/15.

I just hope the laptop arrives before my vacation since I'm planning on leaving on July 9th.

I haven't gotten one, but mine is scheduled to ship on the 27th. That's weird that it's delayed that long, but some are still getting out before it..

It's the 6500t with the following spacs:

HP did just send me a $50 coupon which expires on 7/31 for the delay.

Hopefully I won't have any problems with it when I do get it :-( I've had pretty good luck with HPs in the past, but this is my first CTO.

Look on the bright side, lenovo is delaying shipments til the end of july/august!

compared to that 7 days is nothing lol

plus theyre giving u a bit in return for the delay, wonder how much customers are getting from lenovo for 30+ days delay!

I ordered the dv6500t special edition and also received the delay (mine estimates June 20th). Mine came with the $50 coupon also, which I have no use for. If anyone is interested in the coupon, PM me.

This is getting dangerous.. My estimated shipping date for the dv9500t is 30th June and .. I need to leave US by 3rd Jul.. I cant cancel my tickets now.. neither do I want to cancel the order at this stage.. Grr.. I knew this rush would happen. But still took a chance. Now just have to pray for the best..

How frequently does HP update the ship date? My ship date for the 6500t has shown June 22 since I ordered on June 12. Is that ship date accurate, or have some experienced receiving the computer even before the HP web site indicates it has shipped?

    Thanks.

Yup! My 9500t is there with you. According to FedEx International, HP misdocumented the shipment and as a result US Customs won't release them. FedEx says there are over 900 laptops in the shipment. 900 very PISSED people! Why hasn't HP notified any of us with an email. For that matter why don't they fly someone to Achorage with the correct documents and get this mess straightened out? Let's see... One round trip to Alaska vs. 900 pissed customers.

On top of that they wouldn't credit me $50 for a coupon. They said I'd have to return it once I received it and reorder. Let's see... Credit the customer $50 vs. pay for return shipping, loss of revenue as a refurb, and a pissed customer.

What's going on over there HP?

I did call Fedex, They said it was stuck in customs, and that HP needed to bring up paperwork for it to be legal to enter the country, I gonna wait till tomorrow when i wake up and if there is no progress made, I'm gona be calling FedEx and HP, whoever is to blame. I'm not mad or anything, my notebook shipped 3 days b4 the estimated time, but i want the da** thing.

I guess I am in that 900 laptop shipment delay in AK. My 9500 shipped on the 15th, 10 days early. Been in a Clearance Delay since the 16th. Have a call into Fedex with a ticket open to find out what the status of the shipment is.

The number for FedEx's international dept is 1-800-455-4588. According to FedEx they still haven't cleared customs. They say they will be delivered the next day after they have cleared. (9:10 EST)

Called HP @ 9:13 EST. 1-888-999-4747 - Explained the situation. Forwarded to a supervisor. Corporate is aware of it and should receive an email upon clearance. Blah blah blah blah!

I ordered thru Costco and according the original order it'll be shipped on the 26th. Today, I get an e-mail from Costco that said the item was delivered on the 19th and the estimated arrival date would be the 22nd. This was for the 12.1" 1100 series laptop.

If I get the letter, I may be tempted to cancel it. Unfortunately, I'm always looking for something better the second I place an order.

Of course, since my ship date is only two days from now, and I haven't received the letter, I'm guessing that mine is on schedule.

    We'll see, I guess.

My dv6500t is one of the 957 (I think that was the number) that's delayed as well. Just posting to confirm I got the same info out of FedEx when I called (HP didn't provide correct information and FedEx has to wait until HP sorts things out before the shipment will be released to them). The FedEx representative I spoke with also said that once it clears customs I'll have it within 24 hours.

I am used to getting quick ship times with my think pad and (long-ago) Dell purchases.

Not even knowing if my June 22 ship status is accurate is terribly annoying to me. (Guess I need more to worry about.)

I am also one of the 957 that have to wait impatiently. I have called both fedex and hp and gotten the same info (Basically none) and there is nothing I can do to change it. I even asked if I could pay to expodite it and there response was no. My lappy is wrapped up with 957 others and they apparently do not have the proper paperwork. Hp sayes they do and fedex sayes they don't so who knows. I am leaving on a long vacation on Monday and am going to be very upset if I do not have it by then. Hp told me absolutly no problem I would have it by then. I even payed for the 2 day shipping, but the sales rep talked me out of it because it should not even be close he said and here we are 2 business days away.

If you're in the 957 stuck in customs call HP. I got them to credit me the $50 for my backpack. Besides if enough people complain hopefully they will act a little faster!

I tried to contact Anchorage customs, but couldn't get through. It may be too late in the evening. Feel free to try yourself! We'll get some action on this one way or another!!

Nope. Just that it was up to HP to provide the proper documentation that the Customs officials needed so that they could release the shipment. It didn't sound like FedEx can do anything about it until HP sorts it out with Customs.

I mentioned the NB9850 coupon and then went into the customs issue. I knew what was really going on, and each time they started to give me the "canned" response or told me a lie I corrected them with the facts! Finally I asked what were they going to do to get my laptop. They came back in a couple of minutes and offered to refund the backpack cost.

I just called HP, was told 942 systems were stuck in Alaska. The rep claimed the paperwork was being expedited and would make it there within a day and then would be another day for systems to finish clearing customs. All systems would then get overnight shipping to the final location. Info for what it is worth........

Thanks. Does that mean that it will be delivered by Friday, because if it cannot be here by Friday it is worthless to me. Hp needs to step up to the plate on this. They knew what was going on almost 5 days ago now. 900 plus orders = 900 plus dissatisfied customers. It took them this long to expedite the correct papers. Strike 2 Hp and I have not even turned my new toy on.

Fedex site still shows waiting clearance. HP has known about this since Monday. They told me yesterday the matter would be fixed today and delivered on Thurs. Obviously that's not true.

These are all from point of manufacture shipments to US customers.

I was planning on leaving Monday. Looks like I'll have to change my plans if I want to get my laptop.

If you don't call them and bother them it won't get fixed!
