But it isnt magical.

Has the battery life of a notebook. That disappointed me. Might as well get a tablet which is more powerful.

I'm not an HP fan, but this does look pretty interesting.

It's all about the user interface. Currently, few Windows applications are touch aware. I see this thing dying a fast death.
-
I was reading at TPCR that on a TM2 atleast, most programs just interpret pen/finger input as a mouse, so they're compatible. Even some games were interpreting two finger zoom as the middle mouse wheel zoom.
-
On all TabletPCs, touch is interpretted as a mouse click.
And that's the problem. Programs assume keyboard and mouse, so all the onscreen elements and the interface in general is geared towards keyboard/mouse input.
For example, notice how a lot of elements are near the bezel of the screen. While this is great for a mouse, this is the part of a touch screen that is most inaccurate. Notice also the size of elements on the screen. You have to click on them precisely with your mouse. The finger is far less accurate because the finger is fat and input needs to be more forgiving in that regard.
Take it from a guy with serious tabletPC usage. Windows is a keyboard/mouse world.
