I am the owner of an HP dv6000 series laptop and have had multiple problems with the computer from about 6 months into owning it. I have had 2 repairs done on the computer and still the problem exists with the networking card and display.
I've read that many people have sued HP for these types of problems, and since my laptop is out of warranty I see this as my next course of action. My question is whether I can sue HP myself even though I didn't purchase it (it was a gift from my parents who don't have the time to get involved in court matters). Any info would be helpful! - Gil from Los Angeles

Have you seen the Nvidia class action? If you model falls in there you are entitled to be reimbursed for any out of warranty repairs done plus a replacement for the notebook

In court my guess is being the owner would be very important, although you could 'help' them file the suit. As for the class action suit, if you do fit the criteria, you would have to also prove your lack of being informed over its existence as those who didn't opt out have no right to their suit, although most small claims judges will give you the benefit of the doubt.

My computer doesn't qualify for the Nividia suit. My card is one of the same as the models affected however (model geforce 7150m gs). I've always been the owner of the computer, just didn't make the purchase on my credit card.
