    Hi,

I've been searching on this forum for the difference between 13-3000EA and 13-3010EA but cannot find the difference apart from one being Windows 8 and the other being Windows 8.1.

Only the 3010EA is available on HP website, and the 3000EA is discounted in a number of retailers in the UK.

Does anyone know exactly what the differences are?

    Thanks,

I just bought the 3000EA last week from a retailer on Amazon for around £950. It came with Windows 8.1 installed. I have not yet been able to find the difference between the 2 machines, although I guess originally the 3000ea did not have 8.1 installed and perhaps the 3010 has an upgraded BIOS, which I had to do manually on my 3000. I was actually about to buy the 3000ea from HP's Student Store for £899, but all of the sudden the laptop got removed from the student store and the 3010 was introduced into the general HP store for £1000. I called a rep and was told the 3000 was discontinued. Honestly, I feel some marketing guy looked at this laptop and at the competition and advised HP to up the price and slightly change the model number.

Very happy with the 3000ea. It is a magnificent machine and would recommend.
