Hello,
I have been watching the HP Spectre for a while now and am about to purchase an ultrabook. As I feel, with extensive research, that this is one of the best ultrabooks for the money out there, I really want to order one with all the upgrade options such as the i7, 8GB of RAM, the QHD screen, and more. However, the option for the i7-4500U processor has mysteriously disappeared, and this is my most coveted upgrade. I contacted chat support with little avail (they seemed to think there was never an i7 offered in the first place). I emailed HP, receiving a lengthy and well-written letter, most of which pointed to other powerful Envy laptops as an alternative purchase and other services. All that was said about my question of whether the i7 option was simply out of stock or discontinued was that it was "not available". I just replied again clarifying my question once again, and will hopefully receive another answer soon. However, I wanted to post about this and hopefully get some other feedback on the issue. It seems odd to me that HP's most powerful model of their high-end ultrabook would simply be no longer available. Thanks for any replies!

Received an answer. Apparently these decisions "are made at a much higher level within HP," as to whether the option will be back in stock and when. It is frustrating that I cannot purchase the most powerful version of HP's flagship laptop, and even more so that no one from HP can tell me if I will be able to.

Hi. I found an HP Sprectr 13t 3000 here with i7, 256GB ssd, 8GB ram, and FHD screen for roughly $1,700 here in Dubai.
However, I asked them if they have vivid qhd model, but they said it was not available.
I am just wondering if QHD is really all that necessary? Is there that big of a difference? -
I ordered 16 of the 13t-3000 with the i7 upgrade back in early January for my company. I called my sales rep to place an additional order and was also surprised to hear that the i7 is not available at this point. My sales representative wouldn't answer me over email and called me instead, he has a nasty habit of not liking email communication. I suspect something is up such as overheating or something. Though...I have not had that issue myself and I run my current 13-3000 i7 in performance mode running windows 8.1 64bit pro and am a power user with SQL Server and other development tools.
Anyway, nothing much to add that will help but I am with you on the news. It is disappointing.
