I am thrilled this is finally happening. However, even if I settle for an I7-8565u, NVIDIA MX150, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, and give up my 16GB of RAM and my 512GB SSD, I have a bad feeling they will cost above $1,500, my spending limit for laptops. Otherwise, this would eliminate all those concerns as to which 2.6mm LCD 4K/UHD panels have the best color gamut. But they say that good things come to those who wait, if you want something bad enough, you'll wait longer for it, etc.. So I'll be waiting for and keeping my eye on the price of these new AMOLED Spectres. More thoughts: If the difference in picture quality between the best LCD panel and an AMOLED panel is only 10%-15%, or maybe even 20%, you should ask yourself if it's worth giving up vacations, clothes, titles on Blu-ray, etc. for a long time. I interpret the way everyone talks about the current LCD panels on the 15.6" Spectres as though colors pop out, are punchy, rich, vibrant, vivid, etc.. If this is the case, this reminds me that I can still obtain more than average results without stretching too far beyond my $1,500 spending limit on laptops.
