EDIT: It looks like the 4101DX model no longer has the USB-C ports listed under the specs.
I'm in the market for a new portable laptop and essentially decided to get the Spectre x360. I was going to wait until after Windows 10 releases (who knows, maybe it goes on sale), until I noticed that HP's site added new models with Windows 10 preinstalled.
HP Spectre x360 - 13-4101dx
The biggest thing is that I noticed a couple of the hardware specs have changed. Not only did HP upgrade the speakers to Bang & Olufsen speakers, but it looks like they also changed all 3 USB 3.0 ports to USB-C ports. I know that USB-C isn't popular at the moment, but it looks like it's heading in that direction (new Macbook and Chromebooks come with USB-C ports). Unfortunately, it looks like all 3 ports were switched to USB-C, so it no longer has USB-A ports (why?). I know there aren't many USB-C connections for now, so I'll need to be handcuffed to an adapter for a while, which I think I'm okay with.
I plan on getting a laptop that will last me several years. Am I better off getting the new model with USB-C ports?

In the long run, it's almost always better to go with the latest standard. USB-C will be the new charging standard for cell phones and tablets.
However, the specs still say three USB 3.0 ports not 3.1. I'm not sure we'd see 3.1 until the Skylake refresh.PsylentStorm likes this. -
Good catch on the USB 3.0. I assumed that because it was USB-C, it would be USB 3.1.

Where on the HP site does it say USB C?
Under the Ports section I see this:
3 USB 3.0 (HP USB Boost) -

The new ones don't have USB-C... it will probably come with Skylake is my guess
