My sister has the TC1100 tablet pc and it wont turn on. It worked yesterday but today the light blinks when it is hooked up to the charger but still wont come on. I took out the battery and put it back in and still nothing. It has a plastic burning smell from the little vent in the back so I think it cooked itself

Is there anyway to get the data off of it? any way to save her computer?

    Thanks!

I would open it to try and see what exactly burned. You might be able to replace a part and fix it. If the hard drives didn't burn, then yes, there should still be data on them.

This sounds like the mobo/cpu is fried. So you would need to replace that and it will be fine. Do you still have warranty?

Also, just take out the hard drive and connect to any other computer using an external enclosure.
