It works and all for me.. but the windows media center guide isn't accurage at all? so how do you record if it's not accurate.... is there better program than what came with the laptop to use the tvtuner. I want something where I can put times to record and and also maybe a different media format for recording also. If you record 1 hour of tv it's 4gb.. what if u want to tape a movie or 2 hr show?? u can't put it on one dvd?? help please!

there are many programs out there that support tv tuners and recording, as for the size issue. you could try encoding in a lower rate or re-encoding after the recording to reduce size

Does the cost of the TV tuner ($130) cover all of the costs for using it or are there additional service/other costs? This is assuming one has a television with cable.

Masta, if you plan on putting the raw data on a DVD then no, you cannot burn more than one 2-hour show onto a DVD. However, videos are setup differently than regular files as it goes by the time not the file size. If you recorded 2 2-hour shows, you could burn both of those safely onto a DVD using the Media Center burner or even Nero or some other DVD authoring software.

It seems to work fine for me. Did you select the correct location and service (e.g., Cable, DirecTV, etc.) when you set it up?
