HP USA Warantee in Canada

i was looking at the 8510p or 8710w...and i am canadian, but i would order it customized off of the hp usa site and ship to my office in the states, then i would import it into canada. i was wondering if my waranteee would still be fully covered living in canada?
for example, if u buy a sony usa laptop and bring it to canada, you have no warantee service unless you bring it back to the states and lie to them that you live there...
any input please, as i wont really buy it without being fully covered.

HP and Compaq warranties are transferrable canada/USA.

I have owned two laptops, one of each both bought in the US and warrrantied/registered in Canada with no problem

I'm currently using an HP laptop I ordered from the US and shipped to a friend in the States, then brought it back. Everything transfers fine. But no, HP will not ship direct across the line, you'd have to bring it across yourself.
