Ok, so I just helped my girlfriend buy a dv2700t. Everything about is great and she without a doubt, loves it except for one thing. The volume buttons...everytime they are used it takes several minutes for the change to register and for the popup to dissapear. This is a rediculously long time for a simple task. Im assuming they are bad drivers and plan on reinstalling them but I was a little worried as when I went to Frys the other day and tried out the volume buttons on the other HP laptops. Both the HDX and another dv2700t both exhibitied the same symptoms. I really hope HP updated their drivers cause I dont think this is a hardware malfuntion. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had the very same problem on my new hp laptop. I just disabled "HP QuickTouch On Screen Display" (or something close to that) during start up. The buttons now work fine without lag, you just don't see the pop-up volume bar. If that doesn't work you can always uninstall the HP Quick Touch software, but then you lose that feature.
