Boo...aw well. I suspect all of them to look about the same.
Still sexy
And I didn't know there was a voodoo subthread. Hmm...aw well -

-
Sexy indeed. I'd tap it.

Laptop is ugly as hell. I dont see why you can like it, it has the ugly hp pavillion finish. Oh wait, its not a voodoo but an hp laptop which voodoo puts a sticker on to make it a voodoo. This machine is not a boutique laptop, it is just one small step above hp's mainstream. It is basically the hp hdx line redone, since it was a fail, and this one is going to be as well. The new laptops are not voodoo's and never will be. The company has changed and went for the worse. Tech support, warranty and everything the company was known for went down the drain with Hp. Who ever buys this laptop is a fool since it is just a Hp.

Everything Voodoo offered in the past was offered by other companies, as well, at a lesser cost to the buyer (much more bang for the buck). There's no difference that I see, between the Dell/AW deal and this one with HP/Voodoo. Neither AW or Voodoo has been ruined by their acquisition by the bigger companies. The issue as I see it with regard to Voodoo service, tech support, warranty work, etc, is that they never did meet the Voodoo hype.
Voodoo's service can be good at times, atrocious at others. Its machines are usually well-built, but not worth anywhere near the price required to join the exclusive little Voodoo club. -
The thing is that their machine are not voodoo's anymore, they are Hp's. Their is nothing about them which is Voodoo. They are manufactured in Hp's plants, have generic quanta parts which HP uses, and they come with generic HP everything. Their is no emotional experience at all with it. You will not get a shirt, mousepad, sexy paint, good customer support, knowledgeable staff, game fuel, a binder and a signed letter. You will get nothing but a driver disk the laptop and power cable.
I know during my build I could call up and talk to ryan, luc and tyrell throughout the build and see how everything was going. I had a connection/relation with teh staff their, which you will not get with HP.
I supported Voodoo, but nomore, as theu have no balls and could not even step up to the plate and get anything they want from HP. Hp has taken over and it is very clear that they have. I love my system and I am glad I have a real one, and the original voodoo guys's cell numbers so I dont have to deal with the HP retarded customer service people.
bmwrob, I think I will buy a mac before buying another voodoo, oh yeah I forgot HP.
K-TRON -
P.S. I hate HP. -
Oh yeah service has changed. Instead of getting the Rozzinator, or the other few people who worked in customer tech/support, cant spell their names so not bothering, all you get are the hp customer tech people, who will just be a nuisance and slow down everything. Than they will relay you to a hp tech person, who knows nothing about computers. Its a real shame. I had to do a warranty swap after the Hp acquisition and I got fed up and had to email Judy the old voodoo human resources lady to get the job donw right cause the HP people are useless. Before the Hp acquisition changed anything, I could call up speak with a nice voodoo person and then talk to the guys building my laptop within a few minutes. Now forgetabout it.

I am really interested to see what the portfolio will look like for the suggested HP Blackbird gaming notebook with Voodoo dna. I think it should be awesome.
With regards to the direction of the Voodoo brand. I think the hp acquistion had done wonders. Keep in mind that that the Envy 133 is just the first offering and even Rahul in his interview has said there will be a graphics update later this year. Regardless I would rather pay for this than a rebranded Clevo
I understand its frustrating waiting for more news but I blame the intel delay just as much for that which is effecting every notebook manufacturer not jusy Voodoo. I really believe that Voodoo/Blackbird would have launched sooner otherwise.
I think that the reason why only the HP consumer/business line is has been announced is for a general marketing tactic. They dont want to be overshadowed by the upcoming boutique range. Also the Envy was announced one day after WWDC probably to try and compete with the possibility that Apple could have updated their own range, specifically the Air, then.
I hate waiting but I believe we should see some cool larger notedbooks soon whether its a blackbird of Voodoo. Despite everything be it the Voodoo or Alienware acquistion. These companies are both getting way more flexible and creative with their designs in my opinion of course. -
Big deal, now their rebranded Quantas.
At least HP put some sense into them about the pricing of their nbs. -
Lol you had a relation with the staff. Yah, one where they suckered you into buying a $7500 laptop. They are laughing and swimming through 7500 single dollar bills you gave them. You gona hang out with them on the weekends now?
Lol emotional experience? Do you use your laptop as something other than a LAPTOP? -
clam down.
also, nothing wrong with hp laptops.
I dont see how you can say this new laptop is nothing special, just a hp rebranded.
sure it will have the hp branding, but that little H and P will shave off more than 2k off the price tag. do you know how hard it is to work with carbon fibre? you cant exactly melt it down.
p.s, most hp laptops are rebrended ASUS, wich i think are good. -
I hate HP and Dell labtops.
I have seen too many HP notebooks break and my friend have 3 dell inspirons and all three of them have hard drives problem after 1-2 years. I don't know why he keeps buying them. -
cause hes a retard...
-
actually no, it seems like your friend does not know how to treat or take care of a system. Most laptops dont just completely die, unless your friend did absolutely no research and bought a system which was prone to failure.
I have had over 20 laptops in the past, most of which were Dell's and they are still running strong today. I keep all of my systems, and never hve I had a problem with them I could not fix myself. I have never had an Hp, cause I dont buy from bad companies. My girlfriend had an HP, and it was slow, so I surprised her and gave her one of my laptops.
If you notice, people around here are very knowledgeable on laptops, and we do not recommend products which are known to have problems.
Your friend should join NBR and research his next laptop before just buying one.

Ktro you're talking out your *** ! you never owned an HP cause they are crap ? have you ever had a business line HP ? They are very well built solid comps , much better than the dells i've had . you get a lot of comp for the money with 3 year warranty in many cases try one before you give your 2 cents worth of advice !
the consumer HP comps are not great , not near the build quality of the business line . -
I did not say they are bad. I dislike the fact HP destroyed Compaq, and I dislike their company from a business standpoint, not their machines.
The point of the post was that the guy having the problems with computers needs to go easier on them, cause laptops generally do not self detonate themselves. They generally break from improper human use.
