I just turned on my laptop and there is this horizontal line about the middle of the screen. I've searched it on google and apparently it's not fixable. The only way is to get the LCD display replaced. I bought this dv6000t on october. On the bottom of my laptop it says 1 year warranty. With this warranty, can I get my screen replaced free of charge? I took perfect care of this laptop and I don't know why this happened. Please help me. I'm a student in college so I'm planning to wait till spring break since I will need this computer almost everyday. Do you think it's a good idea delaying? or should i just send it now and suffer 1-2 weeks of no laptop. (i could always go to the library but yeah... ) Thanks in advance.

As long as it is a defect in the screen or workmanship it should be covered.

Yes they will fix the unit while under warranty....

For tips on "What you should do" before sending it in for "repair" you would be well advised to read thru the thread in my "sig"...... There is a section, a post about what you should do before sending the unit in.

PS: Besides the above... You need to run a "restore" before calling HP as they will more than likely request /demand that you do so to confirm that it is a "hardware" problem....
