I just did a clean install of Windows Vista. Wondering if I should install HP Wireless Assistant or keep the default Windows version. What exactly does the HP version do? Thanks.

I don't know about the Windows Vista thing, but HP Wireless Assistant enable you to turn on/off Bluetooth and Wireless individually.
For myself, since I don't use Bluetooth much, I have it turned off, and Wireless on, so that when I push the wireless button on my laptop, it turns on.off the Wireless, instead of both.
I'm guessing the Vista thing takes care of logging on to various wireless networks? (In which case I use the Intel software instead of XP's Zero Config)

    Hope that helps

The Vista version is exactly the same as the XP version. It enables you to turn wireless and bluetooth on/off.

In HP Wireless Assistant, click properties then checkmark 'Independent controls for installed wireless devices.'

Yes, it does. It's the exact same application. Nothing new...

If you meant Window's built-in networking settings panel, then no, you can't control the devices.

Sorry. Didn't know Vista had a wireless assistant.
