I want to buy HP ZD7000 series notebook, but I don't like the 17 inch wide monitor, was wondering has anyone tried with the 15.4 inch monitor.

    And

    how is ZD 7000, 15.4 inch compared to a ZX5000 15.4 inch.

    Thanks

Unless HP made a change to their product lineup, as far as I know, there are no 15.4" models of the ZD7000 available in the US & Canada. The only 15.4" models that look like a ZD7000 would be the ZX5000 & ZV5000. In any case, why buy a 17" notebook with a 15.4" LCD? Just buy the 15.4" notebook.

the direct link wouldn't work, so one can go to hp.com , then to pavilion zd7000, then customize.

    15.4" WXGA Widescreen (1280x800)

But he orders zd7000 with 15.4" LCD, he'll buy exactly a 15.4" notebook
    [:D]

BTW, hp does offer the 15.4 option with this one. And, their 7000 series seems to have a better motherboard than the zx series (PC3200 compatible at the full RAM specks), and I personally would take NVidia over Radeon for my non-gaming 3D stuff.

But, XGA screen is no good, IMO. Either brightview or SXGA may be way better.

They actually offer a 15.4" LCD with the model?! [:0] This is a big surprise, I checked out their US & Canadian site and even tried config'ing a unit on the US site and nothing. No mention of a 15.4" LCD. Is it available in another country other than Canada or US, any links? That could explain why I didn't find it, or maybe it's just because I'm going blind. [8D]
