Hello, I have a HP ZD8290 laptop and it has worked like a dream for the past 18 months but it is just too noisy. The fan noise has really started to annoy me now when not playing music, games etc. It's the normal fan noise for it, so there's nothing wrong or anything. When I turn it upside down and poke the 2 fans on the sides with a little stick until they stop turning, the laptop goes all silent as I'd love for it to be all the time. So, I was wondering if it would be possible to replace these fans with other quieter ones and if anyone knows of any decent makes/websites etc please? My warranty's over already so I dont care about opening it up and all but will probably have a professional do it for me once I get the goods. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks! :)

Changing the fans to quieter ones, is probably quite difficult. Since they are produced for this notebook only, quite ones are not available on the market. It is most likely that you canot replace them with normal desktop quite ones either, because the fans in the notebook may not be a stanard size.

Anyway, these fans aren't normally too loud, that they are annoying. It may just be that the fans are reaching the end of their lifes and need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
