    Hi,

I don;t know what went wrong with my HP Pavillion ZT 3300 laptop, when I insert a movie DVD it automatically plays it but when i insert a Data cd it doesn't even recognize it.

I have a DVD Writer combo in my laptop . But when ever I try writing any files to the DVD/CD it says "No COmpatible Recordable devices are found on your system"

Can any one please help me in this regard.

    Thanks in advance.

Just a minute, your post is a bit confusing :
    You have a DVD-Writer/CD-Writer combo ?
It plays DVDs but doesn't play CDs ?
Did you try it with DVD-R ?
Did you do a fresh windows installation or is it the installation that came with the laptop ?

I have a DVD writer Combo.... I am still using the same version of windows XP which came with my Laptop.

Yes sounds strange but its true.... It reads Movie DVD or the one which have auto run feature.... It doesn't read the Data DVD/CD......
