well this is my second hp pavillion notebook and I have to say that I am quite disapointed, the first one was so bad that within the first year they had to replace it. I do recognize hp's positive support because they did send me a new laptop that was 2x the price and specs of the original laptop; however, within a matter of months the new $1800 pavilion zv5330 started having problems. The power cord does not stay plugged in and therefore my computer always dies before I notice it's come unplugged.
What really sets me off, to fix this issue they require replacing the entire motherboard, great if your on warranty but since I just came off warranty and it has started doing it again I am faced with buying a new motherboard myself or finding another solution, very frustrating. Has anyone else experienced this same problem? If so, any homeade solutions? Thanks for letting me vent and any suggestions you may have

I have the same problem with my zv5034 laptop. The power connector on the motherboard is broken. I disassembled the entire laptop and soldered the power connector back together, but that only lasted for a few months. Now it's broken again. I just ordered a new Lenovo Thinkpad z60m, so I'm done messing with this stupid HP machine. Unfortunately it cost me $1500 and a lot of headaches.

I dont have the same problem even after using it a year long. I am out of warranty state, but I do notice it tends to be unplugged sometimes even when its actually connected to the computer.

I always notice in time so no problems there.

If you're already having a problem with it not connecting when plugged in, you're destined to have the same problem I have. I had it for about six months when that problem started; it just continued to get worse and worse until finally it was in the state it's in now. Enjoy your laptop while you can.

I have the same laptop with the same problem. I might have solved the power jack problem, see my thread "HP Power jack problems"
