It is $200 cheaper than a ZX5000, but it has a Celeron processor instead of a P4 and ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 4X IGP graphics instead of 9200. Would I be able to play games like Doom 3 and Half Life 2 on low settings with the ZV5000t or should I spend another $200 for the ZX5000? Also, how much worse is the ATI 9200 than the 9600. Thanks a lot for the help!

The 9000 will not work, but if you don't need to turn on Fullscreen AA, AF and have it at 1600x1200 a 9200 would work fine, since accorind to id software the min requirments are a geforce 1, now of course that is with a lot turned off, but that means it is playable.

You're going to need all the firepower you can get to play Doom 3 and HL2. You should find a notebook with a Radeon 9700 or GeForce 5700. Unfortunately, the zd7000 series appears to be the only HP model that offers that... though the Compaq R3000T offers a Radeon 9600.

The shared memory Radeon 9000 is horrible for games and Celerons are evil. You'd hate the zv5000t.

You should check out the eMachines M6805. Radeon 9600 video and way better CPU than the zx5000/R3000T. I'd say check the zv5000z but HP foolishly used a thoroughly obsolete video chip in that.
