    HP ZV5410 notebook for $949, is this a good deal??

    Just saw this ad at Fry's: $949.99 after rebate: HP zv5410 notebook with athlon 64 3000, 512 MB, 1GB max, 60gb HD, 64MB Ge Force 4 440 Go (Dedicated) 5 in 1 card reader, CDRW/DVD-rom, 15.4" WXGA HD Brightview. What do you guys think? Guys at Fry's said this will operate at about 1.8Ghz if applications dont support 64 mb....pls i need help in my first notebook purchase...thanks a lot in advance

    Semms like a nice price, especially with the BV screen at under $1000.

    I just ordered the compaq r3310us yesterday for $1000 after tax and rebate. But if I knew about this deal, I'd probably buy the HP instead. To me, the specs seem to be better, unless someone can correct me.

    yeah but can anyone give tips for any better deals out there....i will be using the laptop with some gaming and im thinking the GeForce won't cut it...thanks

    From what I've read on the forum, the GE Force isn't good enough for intense gaming. I guess it depends on what type of games you play. Also, out of curiousity, how much in rebates is your deal for?

    its $999.99 store price w/ $50 rebate...so $949.99 total.....its definitely a great deal plus i get the brightview widescreen with that price

    seems like a decent deal...not the best i've ever seen. I would say after taxes it'll be just like buying it from hpshopping.com configured almost identically (+- $50).

    I'm typing from a similar compaq machine and love it. Either ways seems decent for the price.
