I was wondering if anyone here has this notebook and has had any battery problems. I purchased mine last July and it worked fine till about a month ago. The battery is advertised to last 2.5- 3 hours depending on usage. And up until about a month ago I was seeing these kind of times. For some reason now, the battery is dying faster and faster. I'm now down to about 40 mins of life sitting 10 ft. from the router with the screen turned all the way down. I've tried Hp's support but nothing they have suggested has helped. i also reformatted the notebook to be sure that there were no processes running in the background that may cause power consumption. I've requested a new battery from HP but they are telling me that my warranty has expired. I know it hasn't cause I purchased it in July. I'm trying to find my receipt now. Is there anything someone might suggest to help me rectify this problem? Or is it just that I need a new battery? Thanks for your time and for listening to me babble.

It looks like your battery is defective. Better get that replaced.
