    I thought I would share this information so that others can do as I did and contact HP and get their Laptop hinge fixed.

    If your Laptop has a date code of 716 or lower which is determined thru the digits 4 thru 6 on the laptop's Serial Number, you can contact HP and have it fixed for free. This also affects Compaq laptops with same date codes.
