Just a little story on HP's Vista upgrade. I applied for the upgrade discs but unfortunately didn't have a sales receipt to show when my laptop was purchased as requested by HP to qualify. The funny thing was that I actually bought it before the "free" upgrade was in effect. So when they wanted me to fax them the receipt naturally I couldn't provide it. They e-mailed me a couple of times to fax or send a copy of the receipt. Since I knew I couldn't qualify, I ignored the emails. On the third e-mail they said that the discs were on their way.. I said to myself "no way!" Well, a week and half later lo and behold the upgrade discs came. It was the Vista Business Edition. I already bought the Vista Ultimate in the meantime, which I liked better. I have a dv2138xx and according to HP the Business edition would've been the appropriate OS for it. Well, in the end I'm not going to use the discs at all. That just goes to show you, take a chance in upgrading and you might actually get it. Two thumbs up HP! Have a xcellent day.

They should have it on record. All they would have to do is bring up your name and billing address

Anyone interested in exchanging his Vista recovery disks with my XP recovery disks?
