Quad core smod core aside....1.60GHz as a standard speed is NOT a desktop replacement clock speed. However I'm interested in seeing what this turbo speed is clocking in at 2.80 GHz which is much more respectable. So where is the average speed going to be hovering at? Also I'm HIGHLY interested in the GPU that will be in this thing since the current GPU in HP's HDX 18t is pretty anemic.

As for price *shrugs* Its a brand new architecture. This was to be expected.

The GPU is a joke. I hope it can be upgraded.

Yeah the GPU is a joke, but I don't think HP intended this to be a gaming notebook. More like a multimedia entertainment notebook for Bluray, pictures, and video editing.

I think there will be a 0% chance of upgrading the GPU.

That's not the laptop in question. And the article contains bits and pieces and is poorly written.

Yeah..... Core i7 is good and all... but the price...

I only paid 1145 for my HDX, maybe I should have waited, but oh well >.>

It doesn't look as shiny, but some might find that a good thing.

Gamers won't really notice a difference with i7. It's video encoders and those who do lots of calculations that will really benefit.

The thing is HP does not really have a gaming notebook. It is not really their market, but it is nice to have an option.
