I am about to purchase an HP dv6205us and I was wondering about the quality of the built-in microphone of this model or of HP's in general. If anyone knows anything about this specific model (pros, cons), please share. Thanks!

Not sure about the pros/cons, because sometimes it is extremely crystal clear, and sometimes it worked like an alien voice-faking toy. I think it's the same because I just have the same result using Logitech headset.
I think it's the problem with the internet, make sure you spare much bandwidth for voice chat, and you'll be fine. -
Well, my first machine the mics were crap. That machine got replaced by the machine I use now. The mics worked fine(ish) under MCE 2005, but now under Vista they're crap again and I have to use an external mic.
It's more of a problem with drivers for the sound it seems.
You've been warned! -
Yeah, I bought an Acer last week, which I returned.... and the built-in mic picked up more air than my voice. I plan on using an external mic for the most part, but it would still be nice to have options. I'm not too thrilled about Vista either, but we'll all have to have it sooner or later. Hopefully this HP I'm going to get won't do me wrong!
