So on HP's site, there are two 15" envys to purchase. 3 if you include the beats version.

It seems one is the gen1 and other is gen2 ? is this correct?
    HP 15-1050
    HP 15-1270
    ?

Seems the 1050 has a lower model video card, but a higher screen resolution?

Why does the newer 1270 have a lower resolution of 1366x768?

I have a 1st Gen Envy and the screen is much superior to the 2nd Gen (In my opinion) I got mine when best buy was blowing them out on clearance and yes my envy gets warm, but not with normal usage. Also the 1st Gen comes with the extra slice battery and believe me it needs it. The 6 cell that comes with is absolutely dismal in battery time.

I am not sure why the 2nd Gen came with the lower resolution but I am happy i got the 1050p Screen

the 1st gen comes with the extra battery?
Damn, that might be worth it to take the drop in video card do you think?
I do read a lot that the 1st gen run a lot hotter. I am sick of my dell studio XPS which runs SUPER hot! burning skin hot.
