I have an HP DV7 3020sa, while installing Linux i lost the capability to access bios. The laptop works and linux is working just i am unable to use the keys ESC , F8, F11 to access the bios.
So i thought that i should reset the bios doing it like i always did with other PC's, open the case and lift the bios battery, but in this laptop to lift the battery i need to break its support that puts it in place.
So anyone know any alternatives for reseting a Bios?

Usually on HP laptops it's F10...

I want to reset the bios not to access it. No F key worked to access it.
And it must be some key combination to reset it. -
http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02842278.pdf page 111 forwards.
Not much help there though, maybe reflashing the bios image would do it.
Do the F-keys work in OS though? I was thinking that external keyboard might help. -
Yes they work.
Edit: error info erased, still have to enter the Bios.
HP code, keys to reset the Bios?
