Hi,
I own a HP compaq 6910p notebook. About a week after its warranty expired I've encountered display problems. My screen turns white spontaneously, sometimes from the second I start-on the notebook and other times, during use. In order to return display I have to open and close the screen gently over and over again until the display returns.
In addition, usually before the screen turns white, it flickers for a minute (thin black stripes over white background) accompanied with a slight weird buzz.
I have tried several things:
1. Connecting the notebook to an external screen (VGA) when the problem occurs. The display on the external screen worked fine.
2. Taking the battery out and pushing the on/off button for a minute, for 3 times (some friend said it might help it didn't).
3. Opening the screen to visually check the inverter and the video cable they both seemed intact (but my examination was shallow).
Please help me diagnose the problem so I'll know which part should I buy and replace.
Thx in advance,
Nido.
