    Hi,

I own a HP compaq 6910p notebook. About a week after its warranty expired I've encountered display problems. My screen turns white spontaneously, sometimes from the second I start-on the notebook and other times, during use. In order to return display I have to open and close the screen gently over and over again until the display returns.
In addition, usually before the screen turns white, it flickers for a minute (thin black stripes over white background) accompanied with a slight weird buzz.
    I have tried several things:
    1. Connecting the notebook to an external screen (VGA) when the problem occurs. The display on the external screen worked fine.
    2. Taking the battery out and pushing the on/off button for a minute, for 3 times (some friend said it might help… it didn't).
    3. Opening the screen to visually check the inverter and the video cable – they both seemed intact (but my examination was shallow).

Please help me diagnose the problem so I'll know which part should I buy and replace.
    Thx in advance,

    Nido.
