MY new notebook only has a silver colored decal in the corner of the lid. Yet the previous versions had a nicer stick-on raised logo.
Ah well, got to save somewhere when they only sell for $900 each.
Wonder what the profit margin is on consumer grade notebooks these days?

Since we're posting random thoughts, my notebook has a service tag on the bottom. I think that might prove useful someday in case I need to contact HP for support.

The HP logo in the new dv series isn't a 'decal.' It's below the Imprint design glossy resin, and probably a metal type material.

I see no problem with the logo on my DV2000 - I prefer it flat, it looks much more sleek.
