    Hello there,

I've been a long time lurker, particularly in the HP forums, and have read every page of the DM3 owners' lounge over a period of days :).

I absolutely fell in love with the previous generation dm3 because of its minimalistic looks and its keyboard, plus its size and weight are perfect for me.

Anyways, my current dilemma is this: I am going to finally pull the trigger soon, and was wondering which to buy - the 1130us or the 2010us?

Design wise, I like the 1130us ($650-amazon) because it's simpler, but wouldn't mind the 2010us design ($590-walmart) if it performs better for the cheaper price.

Only the hard drive and display seem to be the same.

Here are the specs for each:
    HP Pavillion dm3-1130us
Processor: AMD Athlon Neo X2 Dual-Core Processor L335
Processor Cache: (1.6 GHz, 512 KB L2 Cache)
    Memory: 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 DIMM)
Hard Drive: 320GB SATA hard drive
Network Card: Integrated 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector)
Wireless Option: Wireless LAN 802.11b/g/n WLAN & Bluetooth
Display: Diagonal HD BrightView LED Widescreen Display
Video Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200 Graphics with 128MB Display Cache Memory

    HP Pavillion dm3-2010us
Processor: AMD Athlon II Neo Dual-Core K325 Processor
Processor Cache: 1.3 GHz, up to 2.0 GT/s System Bus, 2MB L2 Cache
    Memory: 4GB DDR3 System Memory
Hard Drive: 320GB SATA hard drive
Network Card: Integrated 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector)
Wireless Option: Wireless LAN 802.11b/g/n WLAN
Display: 13.3" Diagonal HD BrightView LED Widescreen display
Video Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics with 128MB Display Cache Memory

I don't know enough about computers to know the effect of the changes between the models (cache, processor, video graphics).

My key question is: What will the performance difference be, if any?
    Is the 1130us worse??

Anyways, thanks for reading this long post :). Hopefully someone will be able to help.

The 1130 is actually going to perform slightly better, maybe a max of 10% when the CPU is being fully utilized, but the difference is basically negligible especially when just doing basic stuff. I would go with the 2010 because it will get better battery life and because it is cheaper.

Thanks so much for the advice =]!

Awww, I really liked the old design, but I didn't realize the new one has better battery life. I'll be going with the 2010us model then.

And plus, I think I saw it for $499 on Office Depot's site (after $80 instant savings and $50 MIR) :D! I won't get paid 'til next week though, so hopefully I'll find a similar deal then :/.

I'll be sure to post pictures and an unboxing video when I get it though, since I haven't really seen user pictures or an unboxing of the updated dm3 anywhere.

    Anyways, thanks again :)!
