OK so I just realized that my F2 being always pressed (not by me) is the reason for all my problems. It causes self tests at BIOS boot up, causes Renames when I click something, cause me to be unable to increase brightness, and causing the laptop to wake up on its own.

Because it is physically pressed, is the only way to fix it to pry it up with a credit card? Upon visual inspection it seems normal.

What's the status of this? If the credit card trick doesn't work, removing the keyboard might be your next option, as long as that doesn't void your warranty.
