    HP dm4 optical drive: What else can you put in there?

    Instead of the DVD drive that comes with it, what else can you put in this bay? In my old laptop, you could switch the DVD drive out to put a second hard drive.

    I believe there weren't any options on the HP website to change out the optical drive for anything else without major modifications. However, with major modifications such as modifying the optical drive, you would most likely void your warranty.

    I was wondering if you could replace the ODD with something else entirely? If you need warranty service just put the ODD back in lol

    People have looked at putting a HDD or battery in the slot but since its dimensions aren't uniform(As it is wedge shaped) I'm not sure if they were successful
