HP has great customer service.....i have an hp compaq laptop and hp printer..and had great experience with customer service...they come to your place to collect n everything.

but one problem..they never seem to make laptops with high end specs...all their laptops have great design, great secondary features..but the specs never touch the gaming level.

    especially the graphic cards.

of course they made the 20" dragon..but i am talking about smthg in 15 - 16" area.

are there any models out yet which have atleast 8600M GT?

Well, the now discontinued dv5 series and the still going-on HDX16 both have NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT, a small step up from the 8600, imo.

And according to this site http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4650.13883.0.html the ATI 4650 is a cut above any of the cards mentioned above. Reviews show it giving playable framerates with all current games. I'll have first-hand experience to share when my dv6t arrives in a week. :p

hp have been squeezing 512mb ddr2 9600m gt's into everything from the dv5 upward for a while now so I don't know what you're talking about. That is a pretty decent card for a 15.4" laptop to the point it makes everything rather toasty. I'm playing cod4 online with it no sweat.

Yeah, the HD4650 really holds its own with games. In fact, the whole DV7t-2000 that I have is a great gaming computer. Plays everything very well.

I'm another that wanted a high end laptop and have never had a problem with HP. However, it seems that apart from the ATI 4650 and Nvidia 9600, HP doesn't have any of the high-end video cards. Even in the HDX's. :( Both are rated as second class video cards. I know they have the Voodoo laptops to fulfill this requirement. But why can't the HDXs be the same way?

Come on HP, add the good stuff in for all of us high-end gamers...SLI and CrossFire! :p

I too do not know what you speak of. Do some research next time you post something like this. I have a maxed spec HDX16 with the 1GB 130M GPU. According to notebookcheck.net it is a class 2 GPU but so what?

I bought crysis warhead just for my hdx16 to test it out. The auto detect settings set all the video settings to high. If its capable of playing crysis, which is a very demanding game, then I'm satisfied. I don't know why anyone would need a higher gaming card anyway, unless you plan on playing 3 games at the same time or something lol.
