    They have been offering the 8400GS for 50% off for the past 3 weeks. IS something else coming out?

    Don't think so because their newest release(DV3004) is equipped with it.

    Don't even get it.

    I just got this laptop like 3 days ago and its already having problems and I'm pretty sure its the graphics card.

    I'm having the beeping problem every time I boot the computer up =( About to call Hp and send this thing back and just stick to a desktop

    well, sadly for occasional gamers like me who want a more portable laptop get stuck with the 8400m gs :(

    They've been offering it with 50% off as long as I can remember. I bought one last July and I'm pretty sure I got the GPU "50% off".

    Doesnt look like they are gonna upgrade it for a while. They really need to step things up.

    They can't upgrade it, most likely due to heat restrictions, until they upgrade the chassis, which will probably be around the time Montevina hits.

    There's nothing wrong with that card. Just get the right drivers and you'll be fine. It won't run Crysis at 1900x1200, but then again, last time I checked, it was a laptop.... Casual gamers only. Just like the other guy said, play your serious games on the desktop.
