I ought to know by now how to resolve this.

HP dv 6928, Vista Home Premium (SP2), and have a few USB connections: my wireless mouse and keyboard (on 1 USB port), connected directly to the laptop, my two HP printers via a hub connected to one USB port and they are often powered off, and my external hard drive (1 USB port) connected directly and powered via the laptop.

Please be extremely specific as to which settings to make, even advise, please, regarding advanced settings, as I use power option in high performance since the a/c power is always connected. Though I occasionally unplug A/c to allow battery to drain prior to re-charge.

And I have an external monitor connected also.

And my cable Internet is always connected and my Internet cable modem is always on.

This is so frustrating as this is a new Hard Drive (internal hard drive replaced by HP, I installed) as the previous one died a few weeks ago, and what preceded its demise was the notebook not waking from hibernate, among other things.

Am I in for another surprise?

Please advise adjustments, if any, in complete detail.

    Cordially
    Robert
