Apologies if these questions are easily answered in the HP manuals. The Best Buy Geek Squad stripped these off my new machine. Thanks in advance for any advice on the following:

    1. When using the headphone jacks to listen to iTunes or Media Player, I hear significant electronic interference when the harddrive accesses or web pages load. Is this normal? Is this fixable? I've tried a couple of different headphones. The better the phones, the more noticeable the interference.

    2. I decided to test the headphone issue with a DVD. When I played Batman Begins, I received a Quickplay warning. It told me that using Quickplay would require resetting the Region Code on the DVD and that I have only 5 resets for this movie. What gives?

    3. Remote control. Anybody understand how to make the included remote control operate anything. I can't figure it out after installing the battery.

    4. Quickplay. I wonder why iTunes has to be the active window in order for the Quickplay keyboard buttons to allow switching tracks, starting or stopping the music. Other Windows keyboards have more forgiving media buttons. Any solutions out there?

    Many thanks.

doesn't anyone know how to use the hp remote that comes with the dv2000 laptop computer? I too have been unsuccessful in getting it to function after putting in the battery, and could not find anything useful when searching my computer for programs to install it. please share your success story, so that others can be aided in getting the remote to work.

My remote worked without having to do anything on my 2 DV2000Ts. Go to the hp support site and download the remote drivers again. If that doesn't work make sure you have the battery in the right way.
