I have Windows XP on a HP dv2000. My problem is that when I plug headphones into one of the headphone jacks, the speakers of the computer do not mute. Is there a known cause and or fix for this?

    Thanks!

The cause is the drivers, as for the fix there are none as far as i know. HP gave out limited driver support for XP. You can try other XP drivers but you might loose functionality to your mic.
