Yes, but if you only have a 32bit Operating system there is a 3gb limitation on RAM addressing.

    Buy yourself a 2gb stick of 667mhz DDR2 RAM.

Make sure you update to the latest BIOS

Also, I have 2 1gb sticks in there now but the computer properties say I only have 1gb. Is this normal?

Does it say like 1.75 or just 1.00? If its just 1.00 yes thats a problem 1.75 means the video card is taking some memory.

Download CPu-z and check the memory tabs

You might have 2x512mb sticks installed.

I have two 1GB sticks and CPU-z says I have 1024 MB and that my second slot is empty.

To make sure one memory is not bad or why the system say one slot is empty, just switch the memory between the two slot. If the system say you have 1GB after that, try to go into the bios during bootup and turn off memory checking at startup.

    Cheers,

I took one chip out and put it in the bottom slot, it said I had 1.00 gb of ram. Then I put it in the other slot and left the bottom one empty and the computer could not start up. I assume this means that the top slot is broken right?
