Well, I had pretty much settled on the HP dv2000t, when I got to try an HP at a store. It has such an enormous touchpad that I hit it with the palm of my hand when I type, causing the page to jump around. Has anyone else had this problem? Any chance of a fix?

I believe there is a way to disable it. otherwise, don't worry too much, you'll quickly adjust & learn where things are on a specific laptop and go for/avoid them easily.
Whenever I use someone else's laptop, it's strange because I always go for the trackpoint and 90% of the time there isn't one. -

I have that problem with my dv200t. When I'm typing I usually turn off the touchpad (there's a button right above the touchpad that immediately turns it on or off) and then turn it back on when I go to use the mouse. Since the button is right at the top of the touchpad it really doesn't even slow me down when I go to use it.
If you type a lot, you'll probably get used to the positioning fairly quicly and you'll just avoid moving your palm over that area. -
Hey jadedraverla,
How is your experience with running the Vista premium on this lappy? I mean is the Geforce 7200 capable of supporting the aero glass interface? -
the touch pad on the dv2000t suk. its so sticky. when ure fingers are cold u cant even move your finger along the trackpad
