My girlfriend has a dv2225nr that I'm refreshing for her. Currently she has 1GB of RAM and I'd like to go to at LEAST 2GB, and preferably 4. Will this sytem accept 4GB of RAM? If not, is it a BIOS limitation?
HP swears it'll only take a max of 1GB of RAM, but I've seen many reports of people using 2GB successfully with it. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Thanks!

That should take at least 2gb probably 4gb really. If youre not running a 64bit OS though, I would do 2 or 3gb. Probably stick with 2 unless youre feeling gutsy..... the only thing you will be out is what the ram cost you.

actually ram isnt so expensive like back in the day... yeah but if u do have vista 64bit u should be able to go 4gb as long as u update the bios......well pretty much just keep the machine up 2 date...........but if you dont have 64bit u gonna have to go with 2gb or 3gb because if u put 4gb in a 32bit it will only read 3.2-3.5gb's so its up to u.....................

Yeah, I understand the 32-bit limitation. Not worried about that. Just whether or not the SO-DIMMS will be read by the system. I looked at the most recent BIOS, and it looks like it's the original. Hopefully that won't be an issue.

yeah it seems the hp dv2225nr can only handle 2gb ram max so that should be sufficient though u knoe for browsing the web, school work(microsoft Office),and so on......................

brianstretch Notebook Virtuoso
Pavillion dv2225nr specifications
It's an AMD system so it'll do 4GB. I put 4GB and 64-bit Vista in the 17" equivalent of that notebook.
