though it has the same specs or even better then the competition. it recieves scores 900 points under everyone else. how is this possible?

I'm not sure where you're getting 900 from, the max an 8400M-GS should get at stock is ~1500. I imagine the HP's is slightly underclocked.

HP dv2500t (2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7300, NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS 128MB) 2,157 3DMarks
Dell XPS M1330 (2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7300, NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS 128MB) 3,116 3DMarks -
Oh, you're talking about 3dmark05 scores. Yeah, those look about right.
-
the dell and the hp were similar spec'd ... why such a huge difference in 3dmark05 scores then? just by first glance looking at the specs it doesnt look right .... or.. at the very least there should be some plausible reason for such a huge difference in 2 similar spec'd machines having such a difference..
someone care to clarify? -
wow i would not have guessed there would be that big a difference between 2 systems using the same hardware.. i figure on some yes but not that much
-
Well, the 500 point difference in the review was attributed to bloatware by the reivewer. I'm not sure if that's the case or not, the HP card's could be underclocked.
-
different drivers maybe?
-
drivers bloatware or not. thats a light and day difference.
-
The setting on the hardware must be diffrent for the scores to be like that -
hp has 64mb dedicated vram
dell has 128mb dedicated vram
that is the reason for difference
HP dv2500 wierd 3dmark scores???
