Hello everybody![]()
First of all, pls excuse me for the fault i can make, i haven't got a perfect english![]()
So. Yesterday, i bought HP dv2510eb. A first, i wanted Dell M1330, but when i saw 13" screen, i found it was too small for my eyes... So i took this notebook with a 14" screen.
First of all, i've put windows xp on my computer. Ive installed rivatuner, and downclocked my 8400M.
but i've got a quite big problem: the processor, a core2duo T7300 (so it's 2ghz) stay at 2ghz on the battery. and of course, it take too much power i think. I haven't tested the battery life, but here, after 1h15, i've only 61% battery left, so i can presume i'le have about 2h30. Ok, wifi is enable, but with only internet, and word, its not enought!!
So, do you know how to downlock the processor?
A second thing, is that the notebook is not very hot, but the fan is quite loud... Presume it's related to the processor speed...
Thanks to all![]()

Did you check to see if any program is hogging cpu resources leading to the cpu being stuck at 2GHz all the time. Also did you check your power profiles. make sure it is set to either Portable/laptop or max battery. If this doesnt fix it then most likely caused by a bad driver. If you dont want to try reinstalling XP or playing around with drivers the best option would be to use a utility like NHC or RM Clock to manage the cpu clock speeds and voltage.

Hi, thanks for your answer.
I've download NHC, and appareantly, it work. The battery seems to last longuer. The Cpu is seen in the windows proprieties as 768mhz, and 1.5ghz with RM clock, witch say it don't know the cpu.
So it's a good step, but neither in RM clock or NHC, can i uderpower the processesor... It's a Cor2duo, and I think, but i'm not sure, it's on a santa rosa.
I've tried Core2duo patch for NHC, but it don't work... Anyone as an idea?
Thanks
