Hey just wanted to know, what is the max memory I can install in this laptop? Currently I have 2gb (2 x 1gb) and was wanting to upgrade it, or is it even possible?

    Thanks in advance.

cool beans! Thanks for the help! I was looking through the HP website and it gave me mixed numbers. Like the dv2500 can have the max memory of 4gb, but then the dv2550se max was 2gb, so that made me somewhat hesitate about the upgrade.

nearly all of them support 4gb aslong as they update the BIOS to the latest one (which enables 4gb support)

yeah originally the dv series had artificial limits placed by HP, but HP fixed that with a BIOS update, but they did not update their documentation
