Hi all - I receive my dv2799ea Special Edition today and was wondering how difficult it would be to downgrade to XP - there are hardly any drivers on the HP site for XP. Anyone have an idea?
    Thanks in advance all,
    Stephen.

Just a note for anyone who is in the same position - I don't think it's possible at the moment. I have followed guides for numerous downgrades for the 2700 series and none have worked - I believe one of the problems to be the 4GB memory and XP limitations in this respect...

Its possible but it wont be anywhere near easy finding the drivers. See the WinXP sticky of this section. You have to find some of the drivers from other places

HP wont support you either if you downgrade to XP.

I've had a look through that thread but to no avail - the DV2799ea is pretty much brand new and none of the drivers I've tried work. Even the chipset driver doesn't install properly :(
