Fools still selling it with Vista on the page for the States. They really need to update that listing.

Engadget leaked a catalog and it showed the touchscreen on the DV3, so it will be out soon in the US.

Unfortunately, I believe the catalog that was leaked was one meant for Europe, and not the US, as Engadget Spain first reported on it.

But I'm pretty sure it's going to be here as well as soon as they clear the last of the remaining inventory of the current dv3t model. Then it'll come with DDR3 and Windows 7 factory installed also.

That's what I was afraid of... I see fingerprints and smudges galore! Given the lengths I go to try to keep my screen as immaculate as I can, if I had a touchscreen on mine, I would either almost never use it, or I would go INSANE.

I also definitely wouldn't want to give anyone else even half a reason to even think about touching my screen. :)

Did you guys notice how ugly the glossy screen looks with all the fingerprints? Not a good idea at all.

It's a touch screen so YOU will get fingerprints on it no matter if it's glossy or not. I would buy this laptop and if they convert it into a tablet it would be even better.

Fingerprint smudges are more discernible on a glossy screen, hence it'll make an already glossy display even worse off.

Fingerprint smudges are only noticeable on black backgrounds and even then it's not that bad. You can also wipe the screen with microfiber cloth once in a while. Fingerprint smudges I can live with... I'm used to it having a tx1000z and a tx2500z tablet.

i can't stand fingerprint smudges, something i've learned from myself over the past couple of years..

for example, i loved the 1st gen Nintendo DS, DS lite was just utter crap for me, the DSi seems fairly attractive though.
I also had an Hp mini 1000, the black body plastic was really nice, you wouldn't see smudges and it was really sturdy imo

stepping up the hp mini's specs and i got a thinkpad
i'll probably buy one in the near future, i'm eyeing the t400 with discrete graphics.

heat is also something i'm uber sensitive about, i dont want a laptop burning mah lap!

But i can somehow already see how this dv3 will be like a deep-frier

you got oily smudges from your fingers all over the glossy case, then it also builds up a quite respectable amount of heat, and then its just nasty..

Oily residue from the case doesn't usually built up heat as long as the heat generated from the HDD, RAM is circulated adequately.

Looks like it's Europe only as a market tester.
