I'll make it short. Battery life SUCKS. HP claims are bulls**t. my 6mth old 13in "ultra portable(that weighs friggin' 5pds)" laptop with "high capacity bulls**t" battery already falls short on battery life compared to my girlfriend's 2yr old sony 14in laptop.

Okay, different laptops, apples and oranges. Also, If I was a computer dummy and didn't know anything about it, then Im the retarded one. However, I know my stuff and Im very sensitive with "battery life" in general with any electronics. I know how to manage batteries so they last as long as possible. With HP, it just pisses me off especially because same story went with the tablet HP I had.

Currently, my DV3T-2000 with minor use (meaning no major battery draining softwares used during battery-only usage) lasts 2hrs MAX. I have my quad core desktop for photoshop/games/processor*graphically intense softwares. I don't expect 12hr battery life from a laptop with C2Duo T6400 / G105M graphics. I opted for G105M "just in case" for emergency use when I don't have any performing desktop around me and I need one for business purposes.

All the madness aside, what else can I do to improve the laptop battery life? 8cell is not an option. Only thing I love about HP is that they know how to design. I get so many compliments with my HP laptop, its nearly annoying when Im trying to watch naughty stuff in public. (thats a joke btw)

hey there! hahaha... we currently have the same issue.

my hp pavilion dv5-1215ee (with intel t6400 and nvidia 9200m gs) just lasts for 2 hours maximum even with minimal use. i'm currently thinking if its battery is faulty or not so perhaps i could take it to hp warranty.
